Working hours Mon-Fri, 8:15am to 4:45PM; Initially, homeworking but will transit to the studio working.
Are you fluent in Japanese?
Your language skill can help millions of gamers worldwide enrich their gaming experience! You will perform Japanese localization testing for video games from every genre. You will work on various platforms including mobile, PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo and more! You will join a highly dynamic multilingual team to work on AAA-rated games before their big market launch, while gaining invaluable work experience and skills in game localization projects and expanding your personal network.
The work is project-based and you are likely to work on various projects throughout 2021.
Role:
• Proofreading or checking already translated Japanese texts and subtitles to ensure accuracy in translation, free of grammar and spelling mistakes
• Ensure consistency in terminology and imagery
• Reporting on translation errors by logging errors and providing suggestions for improvement
• Occasional ad hoc translation work such as emails from Japanese clients and marketing material
Basic requirements:
• Fluent in English and written Japanese with an excellent level of grammar, characters, and punctuation
• Basic IT skills, especially MS Office Excel.
• Great attention to detail with a keen eye for spotting linguistic errors.
• Passion for video games and languages.
• Flexible and comfortable with working on a project-based basis.
• Must be living in London or within commutable distance.
• It is a mix of office-based and remote working role. You must have your own PC/laptop, fast WIFI and a private work area for the remote working requirement.
